General

In the 1960s, the German brand Framus was one of the biggest players in the European market, and they owed that in no small part to John Lennon, who played a 12-string acoustic Framus in the film "Help!" and also during the recording of songs like "You've got to hide your love away" and "Norwegian wood". This Framus 05/024 Vintage Hootenanny 12-String Sunburst Nitro is a reissue of that guitar, built with the precision of contemporary technology, but with all the vintage features of the original. The round shoulder dreadnought body of solid mahogany received a spruce top - also solid - and was finished with a Sunburst Satin lacquer, a matte, sunburst finish.

Perfect intonation

A striking feature of this Vintage Hootenanny is the so-called zero fret or zero fret, just below the nut. Among other things, this extra fret ensures that the sound of open played strings is the same as when you do press them in (fretted). The intonation is therefore very pure, even with a very low action or when using thicker strings. The fingerboard is rosewood and has no radius like most western guitars, so it is completely flat. That might take some getting used to, but it makes loose notes in particular very easy to play and thus adds to the playing comfort. By the way, you can very easily adjust this guitar to your own preference, thanks to the height-adjustable bridge. It also comes with an extra (tortoise) pickguard, so you can also customise the look to your liking.
