General

The Neumann KMS 105 is professional condenser microphone designed to register every nuance of the human voice in the most natural way possible. With a sensitivity of 150 dB SPL, the 105 model can easily be used as a reference mic and, since the proximity-effect has undergone such deep consideration, lower frequencies caused by speaking or singing (too) close to the capsule are electronically compensated for, meaning that the KMS 105 delivers an unbelievably balanced response and Neumann quality sound on stage.

Dynamic Response and Microphone Construction

Since this is in no way an introductory microphone, the handling noise of the Neumann KMS 105 is minimal while the enormous dynamic range and headroom give any performing vocalist all the on-stage freedom they could ever want, and the outbound signal travels noiselessly through any circuits without transformers and uninterrupted along metres upon metres of cabling. This is no fragile mic either. The thick metal housing does more than enough to protect the internal components from any collisions while reducing handling noise and the hardened-steel grille is easily removed so that the delicate internal acoustic filters can be cleaned.
