One look at the Warm Audio Centavo is enough to know that you're in the presence of a highly accurate and highly satisfying recreation of the legend that was the Klon Centaur Professional Overdrive. This was without doubt one of the wildest and the most iconic overdrive sounds the world had ever seen, and since those in the know will be well aware that you'd have to remortgage the house to get your hands on an original, they'll also know that this Warm audio tribute comes a reassuring and affordable, close second.

The Warm Audio Centavo: The MOD Switch

Like the OG, the Warm Audio Centavo can be set up in a range of different ways, so it can effortlessly swing from a crisp and transparent overdrive, right back down to a crystalline clean boost. But that's not everything that the Centavo is capable of. Around the back, you'll find an extra toggle switch for activating that much sought-after Jeff Beck mod. Switch it on, and the lower gauged strings of your guitar gain an altered and reinforced bass response which can be adjusted via the high-pass filter. Dipped in champagne gold and finished with a neat and clean layout and graphics, this pedal is a more-than-convincing offering to the Klon Centaur deity.

Wasn’t sure if this pedal was worth getting and not convinced about size. But it looks great on the pedalboard, and more importantly, it sounds fantastic. Only tried so far on single coils, but it definitely beefs it up. Enjoying it and can see it almost as an always-on pedal.

SUPER pedaal, WOW, ik zet het gewoon NIET meer uit!! Nu nog even versie 2.0 bestellen, de gelimiteerde grijze
uitvoering (met meet gaan en meer headroom!) ...
Een transistor amp klinkt nu als een buizenbak en heel dynamisch!
Daarbij die MOD switch is echt een toegevoegde waarde!

Geweldig overdrive pedal. Daarnaast geeft het ook een bepaalde low-end mee waardoor je nog krachtiger klinkt. Ik had deze veel eerder moeten kopen, dit pedaal doet alles precies goed.

Tip: Koop dit samen met de Warm Audio ODD Box en zet die dichter bij de output dan de centavo. Samen geven ze de toon waar veel gitaristen jaren naar zoeken.

Detailgetrouwe kwaliteitskloon van de mythische Klon Centaur 'Professional Overdrive', maar dan met een handig extraatje: een mod-switch die je een wat dikkere low end geeft als je het nodig zou hebben. Heel bruikbaar voor bv. bij een dunne Strat-brugpickup. Over de klank van dit mooie pedaal kunnen we overigens heel kort zijn: hij klinkt fan-tas-tisch! Ik heb hem vergeleken tegenover de J.Rockett Archer, RYRA Klone en de Way Huge Conspiracy Theory (bepaald geen beroerde rivalen toch?) en voor mij kwam de Centavo als onbetwistbare winnaar uit de bus! Conclusie: ik heb altijd al dolgraag een "échte" Klon gewild, en in mijn ogen is dit hem. ♥
