The Q-Tron Plus - Electro Harmonix's filter effect pedal - helps your sound cut through the mix and allows you to enhance certain frequencies.

Filter effect

Filter effects change the frequency contents of an audio signal, by boosting or attenuating certain frequencies or frequency ranges. That sounds complicated, but the Q-Tron Plus envelope filter is a pleasure to work with. When you're getting your funk on, it's great to boost the trebles of your guitar sound, adding some body to your licks. The Q-Tron is capable of doing just that, and can even add some extras that you wouldn't be able to realise without a filter.

Operation Q-Tron+

Using the six knobs and single switch of the Q-Tron Plus, you can produce any desired result. The filter effect is suitable for guitar, bass guitar and even keyboard. An earlier version of the Q-Tron did not have an Effects Loop and Attack Response switch - features that allow you to take things to another level when you combine them with other effect pedals. Heel erg tof pedaaltje. Ik hou zelf erg van instrumenten, effecten en versterkers waar ik even goed de tijd voor moet nemen eer dat ik de goede sound te pakken heb. Dit geeft namelijk de veelzijdigheid en complexiteit van het apparaat weer en de Q-tron plus valt precies onder deze categorie!

Dit pedaal reageert op elke gitaar anders en ook al kleurt het je tone, en dat vind ik toch bijzonder voor een envelope filter, het karakter van de gitaar blijft behouden. Ook is dit pedaal ontzettend aanslaggevoelig, dus de benadering van je spel wordt totaal anders als je dit pedaal aanzet. Het enige minpuntje vind ik dat je geen mogelijkheid hebt om presets op te slaan. Mijn instellingen bij een humbucker gitaar zijn toch anders dan bij een Single Coil gitaar, dus bij gigs moet ik op mijn knieën om de juiste instelling te vinden.

Al met al is dit gewoon een ontzettend leuk effect, eigenlijk is dit de belichaming van Mojo. Ik kan gewoon steeds niet wachten tot ik hem weer kan gebruiken bij een optreden, want wat is er nou leuker dan steeds een nieuwe benadering voor je speelstijl en sound vinden! Voor alle Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia en Bootsy Collins fans een must-have!
