General

The Sennheiser E 965 microphone sits on top of the award-winning Evolution 900 Series. Even the loudest instruments can be effortlessly captured by this microphone without fear of distortion, and the result is stunning sound. The Sennheiser Evolution E 965 vocal microphone has a handheld, large-diaphragm condenser design with an adjustable pickup pattern, essentially packing all of Sennheiser's stage-mic design experience in one high-end model.

Adaptable Design

If this microphone is set to cardioid mode and you're getting on-stage feedback, it can be simply flipped into super-cardioid mode to limit the pickup range and restore clean sound. The polar pattern is adjusted by simply unscrewing and removing the grille to reveal the hidden two-way switch. Select the pattern you need before replacing the grille.

Further Settings

Besides a polar pattern switch, the Sennheiser E 965 also has two extra switches fitted beneath the grille. The low-cut switch can be activated to limit the effects of wind-noise, while the pad switch can be used to weaken the signal, supporting louder vocal styles. To finish, this professional, high-performance stage microphone also comes equipped with an advanced internal shock-mount system to minimise handling noise.

Een microfoon koop je niet elke dag. Hij gaat nogal lang mee. Wel wordt langzaam de kwaliteit minder. Ik heb altijd Shure SM57, SM58 en Beta 58 gebruikt, maar die waren zo oud, er moest wat nieuws komen. Gezien mijn leeftijd is dit mogelijk mijn laatste microfoon, dus moet goed zijn. Zanger is het visitekaartje van de band, de kwaliteit van de zang dus ook. Een kennis had de 945, vond ik ook prima, maar ik ga voor het beste, dus de e965 gekocht, na een interessant gesprek met een medewerker van Bax in Goes. In een winkel uitproberen heb ik niet gedaan, als je zelf zingt hoor je het niet goed. Dus gewoon maar meegenomen naar de band. Nou, bij de eerste klank hoor je gelijk dat hij veel helderder is en meer definitie dan de oude Shures die ik gebruikte. Ook feedback heb ik nog niet gehad, dus de supercardoid stand heb ik (nog) niet nodig. Normaal zing ik overigens met inear, dus moet kunnen. Ook de anderen van de band hoorden duidelijk verschil. Ik ben er blij mee, en voor deze prijs... had nog Bax korting ook van 10% toevallig. Ik ben er blij mee. Een aanrader. Een microfoon is natuurlijk persoonlijke smaakt, maar bezuinig daar nooit op, je doet er zo 20 jaar mee of langer.

ik heb deze microfoon pas gekocht en ben in eerste instantie uitgegaan van de productinfo en specificaties op de BAX site.
Heb dit weekend voor het eerst ermee gewerkt en ben uitermate tevreden over de natuurlijke volle klank van deze microfoon.
