General

Built from a tasty wood-based buffet, the Fazley Judge Plus bass has a solid ash body with a bolted-on maple neck. Finished with a special, hand-rubbed stain, the natural wood grain of the body remains visible, giving this model its unique and refined look, while the maple neck has been roasted to maximise stability and coated in satin-gloss to support a smooth and agile playing feel. A single-coil pickup has been planted at both the bridge and middle positions to guarantee a wide range of warm and familiar J-bass-style tone, and the output can be tweaked at will using the mounted controls. Part of the Outlaw Series, this bass means serious business, and even comes complete with a gig bag.

I have been playing bass since my teens & I’m now in my mid fifties,my main bass is a headless Status Series 2 & over the years I’ve owned & played most high end & boutique instruments you could think off,the list is endless,as a former professional I’d like to think I no a bit about these things anyway,myself & my wife purchased this bass for one of our good friends Gaz,over the years Gaz has been a brilliant friend to us both & our two daughters,we all think very highly of him,he’s a great bloke,Gaz has talked about getting a bass & learning to play for a while now & I’ve been keeping an eye out for a good used one at a good price point for a beginner,I spotted this outlaw series jazz bass & thought it was worth a punt,my own personal preference on any jazz style bass would be Ash body with maple neck & board which it has only roasted maple which is even better,it has a graph tech nut again which is great,so the specs seemed to be great,on arrival all I can say is how impressed I am with it,it needed the action lowering which is no problem & is now done,the neck relief was great anyway & the internation is good,the neck is really great to play & is very smooth & comfortable,it really is comparable with a bass which is far more expensive,I just wish instruments were this good back when I started all those years ago,I can’t recommend it enough

Wat een fijne bas is dit.
Hele aparte kleurstelling. Houtnerf is mooi zichtbaar. Door houtstructuur is de kleur van de body niet egaal. Sommige plekken zijn een iets andere kleur. Persoonlijk vind ik dit zeer fraai. Doordat er geen dikke laklaag over zit is de body niet glad, je voelt het hout. De roasted maple hals voelt goed aan. Geen scherpe frets of scherpe randen. Stemmechanieken voelen degelijk aan. De drie regelaars voor volume en toon vertonen geen kraakgeluiden o.i.d. Zo uit de doos, stemmen en spelen. Samen met de Fazley stream tone Wireless home een geweldige combinatie. Voor dit geld is het onbegrijpelijk hoe ze zo'n fraaie gitaar met zo'n geluidskwaliteit kunnen maken. Deze bas is zeker vergelijkbaar met veel duurdere exemplaren van andere merken. Zeker een aanrader!!!

Bax heeft een top product met de Fazley serie. Ik had de Sherrif gitaar versie al, waar ik 90% van mijn album heb opgenomen. Want zo lekker klinkt en speelt hij.

Nu dus de Jazz bas gekocht en weer ben ik enorm verbaasd.wat een geweldige jazz bas. De looks perfect, hij speelt goed en klinkt als een echte jazz bas.

Ooit had ik echte Fenders USA. Mijn De Fender had een karakter in het geluid, wat ik bv. Bij een Harley Benton niet terug vond. En ja je moet een goedkope niet met een dure vergelijken, en de HB was op zijn manier prima. Maar deze Fazley jazz bas is zo goed, en dat voor een deal van 135€! Het is gewoon idioot goedkoop voor wat je krijgt. Ik had de 229€ er ook voor betaald.

Ik had laatst een Squier CV Precision gekocht, mooie bas, maar drie keer zo duur en vind eigenlijk de Fazley jazz bas dichter in de buurt komen bij mijn Fender. Wie weet koop ik ook nog wel de Fazley precision.

Ben je een beginner, ga voor deze bas. Ben je een ervaren bassist, zoals ik die alle bassen kent en al 36 jaar bas speelt, dit is een uitstekende back up, of voor gewoon in de studio. Het leuke van dit soort series is dat je verschillende types makkelijk kan kopen en geven nieuwe kleuren in geluid in je nummers.

Ik ben zeer aangenaam verrast!

Na jaren van geen muziek maken ben ik mijn studio weer aan het opbouwen en daar hoorde een Bass bij. Ik speelde vroeger een uitstekende Fender Mexican Precision Bass, maar ik heb het geld er niet voor op het moment. Dus daarom dacht ik, ik neem de sprong, ik probeer Bax hun eigen merk.

Het hout voelt fantastisch aan, helemaal weg van de puur houten feel, alsof het uit de 1900's komt, maar dan modern. De hals is zeer goed gemaakt, voelt goed aan, geen lak, gewoon heerlijk, bijna hetzelfde als een Fender nek (in mijn mening.)

Ik speel m'n instrumenten tegenwoordig via Bias FX 2 (digitaal) en de single coils klinken super! Er zit een kleine hum in zoals een Single Coil normaal doet in het goedkopere segment, maar met een beetje een Noise Gate heb je dat er zo uit. Klinkt het net zo goed als een Fender Bass? Nee, maar voor het geld komt het heel dicht bij.

Waarom 4 sterren als ik zo enthousiast ben?
Op de body, neck en elementen na kan je zien waar de kosten zijn bespaard. De tuners voelen goedkoop aan, de volume en tone knobs voelen goedkoop aan en de standaard snaren die erop zitten zijn...standaard.

Ben je net als ik en heb je vaak bij Fazley gekeken omdat je wat krapper bij kas zit maar toch kwaliteit wilt? Geef deze Bass een kans, maar ga wel voor de 199 versie!

Ik denk dat ik ga overwegen om misschien nog een Telecaster in deze lijn te halen, want ik ben zeer verrast! Dus Bax, als jullie nog een eerlijke review willen, wink wink hahaha.
