It came boxed and with the bridge not fitted which did make me concerned about the sound post. However, all was well, there must be enough tension between the top and bottom to hold it.
I fitted the bridge in accordance with an online guide and inline with the f hole notches. I then lined up the strings. Slowly tuning up all the strings together to almost the correct pitch. Then a final tune to GDAE but twang,the G string broke near the tuner. This suggests there is too much resistance pulling through the nut guide. (I recommend using a soft pencil to put down some graphite on the groove first).
Once a replacement string was fitted, it's vlear that the bridge is way too large and this leaves the strings 10 to 14mm above the fingerboard, way too high. I have obtained a second bridge to modify, cheap from ebay to cut down to allow 7 to 10mm max clearance.
Overall its not too heavy, feels sturdy but does come with rubbish strings, it's better with some cheap ish replacements. Sounds like a double bass, at least more than an electric one and works well with claddic J tone pickups fitted to the bridge.
Overall 4 stars for the money, upgrade tge strings, have a good setup and it's good as a starter bass but you will probably want to upgrade it one day to at least a hybrid that looks better!

Prijs kwaliteit is dik in orde wat mij betreft. Prima contrabas om mee te beginnen. Upgraden kan altijd nog.
Snaren en actie af fabriek goed. Ik heb alleen een beetje met de positie van de kam gespeeld om de snaar hoogte aan te passen.

J'avais besoin d'une deuxième basse pour les plans tout-terrain. Je ne m'attendais pas à des folies : rien qu'en voyant les photos du site on voit bien que le chevalet a été posé de travers. MAIS ! Pour le prix, je suis très agréablement surpris !
Mais attention : Débutants, ou ceux qui n'ont jamais eu de contrebasse avant ; livrée telle quelle un passage chez le luthier est INDISPENSABLE pour régler chevalet et sillet. En effet, la basse est brut de brut et elle est absolument injouable une fois déballée.
On a une basse au son très moyen et à l'ergonomie très ingrate, mais avec quelques heures dessus, une fois posées des bonnes cordes le chevalet taillé, on PEUT obtenir quelque chose d'exploitable. Mais c'est pas gagné !
Il faut absolument changer ses cordes qui sont très mauvaises ; de visu pour l'instant les cordes filées acier ne lui réussissent pas des masses, le son manque cruellement de graves... Mais je joue sur boyau et équivalent (boyau synthétique), et la rondeur du son des cordes à un bon rendu sur cette basse, quoique ça manque un peu de définition.
On a un reversement (angle d'inclinaison du manche) qui peut permettre une action relativement basse, mais la tension n'est pas extraordinaire.
Les finitions sont très approximatives... de loin ça va, de près ça ressemble à un objet une sorte de bibelot en camelote made in china !
Donc dans mon cas, moi qui cherchait un contrebasse d'appoint et qui n'avait absolument pas peur de mettre la main à la pâte et de la modifier , j'ai ce que je voulais. Mais je déconseille fortement ceux qui veulent commencer de l'acheter en éspérant avoir un instrument d'un claquement de doigt ! Case luthier indispensable.
