General

The tight form of the EBS MicroBass 3 houses a 100% analogue bass preamplifier that offers complete, detailed control over your on-stage and studio sound. A Clean and Drive channel is provided, both with extensive tone controls with a Character / Bright switch fitted to the Clean channel and a Thin / Deep switch fitted to the Drive. The MicroBass 3 has been carefully designed for use in combination with any type of power amp and every flavour of bass pickup, whether active, passive or piëzo.

The MicroBass 3: Connectivity

The Clean and Drive channels can be placed in series or parallel as preferred while the balanced XLR outputs have pre EQ, post EQ, and stereo settings, and the included FX loop can be flipped from mono to stereo. The built-in tuner is an undeniably useful extra but it's the integrated compression (based on the models found in many EBS amplifiers) that really opens up the range of this unit. In short, the EBS MicroBass 3 preamp simply guarantees solid sound of your own making.

Wrote the following about EBS MicroBass 3 2-Channel Analogue Preamplifier

Ik geef zelden beoordelingen, maar dit is echt een goed apparaat. Met de komst van in-ear monitoring is de noodzaak om een grote versterker rond te zeulen vervallen. Toch miste ik de mogelijkheid om zelf mijn basgeluid te kunnen tweaken, los van de monitormix. Deze MicroBass 3 is echt een hele goede doorontwikkeling van de eerste versie die ik hiervoor gebruikte. Een van mijn bassen heeft lage output, de ander heeft echt een beetje bas extra nodig voor de mix. De toon van de pre-amp zelf is heel clean, maar ergens zit wel een EBS-randje. Uiteraard is de toonregeling heel handig, met een variabele mid-frequency boost of cut. Heel fijn is dat je een gain-functie hebt, zeker voor bassen die niet veel geven maar wel mooi klinken. Je kunt je nummers oefenen door een ipad op de dedicated input aan te sluiten. De overdrive gebruik ik zelf niet, maar die hoef je niet aan te zetten om van het drive-kanaal gebruik te maken. Wat je kan doen is van het drive-kanaal een preset maken voor als je gaandeweg een optreden wisselt van bas. Je output en toon passen is dan niet nodig. Heel fijn is het ingebouwde stemapparaat en de compressor. Het apparaat is stevig en kan stegen een stootje. Ze hebben zelfs de voeding gratis toegevoegd. Enige nadeel dat ik zie is dat je nu helemaal geen 9-volt batterij kunt gebruiken, dus je voeding moet ergens in een stopcontact. Blij mee!
