General

Built with scratch and battle DJs in mind, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV5 two-channel DJ controller has been loaded with the latest technology, setting you up with intuitive control and innovative features such as extra-large jog wheels that can be tweaked in terms of weight and feel. Add that to the new-and-powerful MAGVEL fader that's been designed for maximum accuracy, and it's just like you're working with two good-old turntables.

The DDJ-REV5: What's New?

The Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV5 has several nifty new functions on board. First off, there's Auto BPM Transition, which allows you to select a number of bars to create a smooth transition between tracks with very different tempos, which is perfect when you're mashing up two completely different styles. In the selected bars, the tempo of the current track will gradually increase or decrease until it matches the next track. During the transition, you're free to apply Stems, Auto Loop and Key Lock for creative purposes. What's also new is Piano Play. This unique mode lets you use the 16 Performance Pads to trigger cue points at various semitone intervals, giving you the option to use the pads like they're keyboard keys and play melodies with ease, even if you're completely unfamiliar with music theory.

Unique Battle Lay-Out

Pioneer DJ have graced the DDJ-REV5 with an upgraded lay-out that incorporates horizontal tempo sliders that have been placed above the platters instead of near the sides, This, as well as the fact that the performance pads are now located in the mix section instead of the deck section, immediately makes the controller stand out as a fully-fledged battle controller. The short distances between the pads, buttons and faders support smooth scratching and quick effect triggering.

Serato DJ Pro & rekordbox

It goes without saying that the DDJ REV5 is fully compatible with Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox. What's more, both can be used in combination with the controller without the need for a licence or subscription. Simply download the software you prefer, plug in the controller and you're ready to go. Like all modern DJ controllers, the REV5 features dedicated controls for Serato Stems so you can effortlessly isolate and remix vocals, melodies, bass lines and drums. Last but not least, it also comes with a voucher for Serato's Pitch 'n Time expansion pack.
