General

Electro Harmonix' Cock Fight Plus is a Talking Wah & Fuzz pedal that gives you two different types of wah (crying and talking) as well as fuzz for three different effects in all. It has the same award-winning tone as the original Cock Fight housed in a robust, lightweight wah pedal with a traditional operating mechanism. There are two different filters on board: a traditional wah pedal filter and a formant filter for crying or talking wah effects. Fuzz effects can be added before or after the filters or left out entirely and the fuzz effect can be adjusted using the controls for Drive and Tone.

I've given 4 stars, but this pedal may be worthy of more. The "Cockfight plus" is versatile & surprising. I have now used it with bass, electric mando, lap steel & guitar (the wah worked very well with the e mando). I purchased it primarily for the "talking" effect"which it achieves with the optional addition of fuzz. Gritty, nasty cheapo fuzz box fuzz - you can alter the bias to achieve the dying battery sound (hardly the holy grail of tone!), but marry that to the formant sweep & it is very effective. This fuzz can then be placed after the sweep in the signal chain, but the sound becomes difficult to control. I think this pedal works better after a compressor (the fuzz circuit having little head-room). Be interested to hear what others think of it.

Dit pedaal kwam totaal niet overeen met de video's die ik zag op youtube. Het geluid was vrij crappy, zowel de wah als talkbox. Het is ook absoluut geen stevig pedaal, het voelde (voor mij) gewoon vanaf de eerste minuut niet goed. De levering door Bax was wel opnieuw tip top. Ook de terugstuurgarantie werd gerespecteerd, bedankt.

Wauw.... In één woord geweldig!
Op internet heb ik me rot gezocht naar reviews, maar eigenlijk kon ik ze nog nauwelijks vinden.
De enige die ik vond, was vrij negatief over het feit dat hij niet van metaal is, maar van plastic.
Ik moet zeggen, dat dit ook echt het enige punt is, waarvan ik me kan voorstellen dat mensen het jammer vinden. Voor mij persoonlijk is het fijn. Ik moet veel met mijn gear sjouwen en lichtgewicht materiaal is dan niks mis mee.
Ik moet zeggen dat de bouwkwaliteit overigens verder prima is. Het is wel echt degelijk plastic en qua gewicht scheelt het echt flink met mijn Dunlop Cry baby.

Wat betreft het geluid... Wauw!
De Wah (cry) is met name echt geweldig. Er zijn onwijs veel instelmogelijkheden.
De talk - stand ben ik iets minder van onder de indruk, maar ik moet zeggen dat ik ook niet zo'n fan ben van zo'n effect.
Wat betreft de fuzz... Die is echt goed. EHX is natuurlijk het fuzz-merk, maar de Big Muff die ik heb, is in lang niet zo goed als deze fuzz. Omdat het een transistor-fuzz is, kun je eindeloos instellen met de bias knop en komt de sound zelfs overeen met een Zvex fuzz.
Je kunt wel de wah los gebruiken, helaas kun je niet de fuzz los gebruiken. Wel kun je met je pedaal een mooie stand zoeken en dan de fuzz gewoon gebruiken. Erg goed te doen.

Voor het geld heb je wat mij betreft een erg goede fuzz en een goed wah-pedaal.
Daarnaast is hij lekker licht voor de muzikant die wel eens moet lopen met z'n gear.
Ik ben fan. Wil je dus een lekker licht pedaal met een super fuzz en wah? Kopen!
