The Morley PWF1 Cliff Burton Tribute Power Fuzz Wah is a tribute to one of the greatest bassists of all time: Clifford Lee Burton. His influence on bass playing is undeniable, and his revolutionary use of a wah pedal during bass solos remains legendary to this day. An important part of his signature sound was the original Morley Power Wah Fuzz. This pedal was known for its unique wah-sweep and electro-optical circuitry that together created that recognisable, thundering sound of Cliff. Morley now brings a reissue of this iconic pedal, with the same raw energy, but in a modern and robust look - complete with weathered chrome finish as a nod to Cliff's original, lived-in pedal.

For instance, it features Morley's popular switchless activation: just step on the pedal to switch the effect on, and off again to bypass it. Pédale tres amusante. J’adore le wah, qui répond parfaitement à condition de ne pas y aller comme un bourrin. Très éfficace, on s’y fait rapidement. Quant au fuzz, même si moins puissant qu’un big muff, on arrive à en tirer des belles distorsions. À ne pas pousser à fond en termes de niveua et intensitè, car ça peut créer des bruits assez désagréables. Quant aux effeêts au mêmevtemps, on trouve rapidement le son Cliff d’Anesthesia ou For Whom th3 Bell Tolls. Au top!
Quant au hardware lui même, apareil tres solide et boen fabriqué. Le seul point négatif? C’est TRES encombrant. Mais quand on aime…

Ik heb de Morley PWF1 Cliff Burton Tribute Power Fuzz Wah online besteld om het af te halen bij Bax Music Amsterdam. Toen ik daar eenmaal was heb ik het pedaal daar meteen uitgeprobeerd en vergeleken met de kleinere Morley Power Fuzz Wah. De Cliff Burton behoudt meer laag, ook als je naar de hoogste frequenties sweept. De bediening werkt als een zonnetje. Er is veel controle over de kortste veranderingen die je met de voet maakt, waardoor je je sound enorm kunt variëren, van bonkig laag tot het geluid van een tandartsboor. Alleen de fuzz vind ik minder veelzijdig. Die gaat alleen door merg en been als je het voluit zet. Vlak daaronder tot bijna 0 is er weinig variatie, maar in combinatie met de wah blijkt dat toch ruim voldoende om de Cliff Burton sound te emuleren. Ook in combinatie met een phaser vòòr de wah klinkt retevet. Ik ben enorm tevreden en vind dit daarom een dikke aanrader voor de bassist die niet vies is van een solo hier en daar.
