This electric bass has a solid ash body dipped in a timeless natural finish with a black three-ply pickguard planted on its face. Combined with the maple neck, black-block position markers and black headstock, the Silveray J Style basically manages to eat up all the cool points.

The Stagg Silveray J Style: Sonic Gymnastics

Stagg has stacked this unique bass with a high-output humbucker at the bridge and a J-style single-coil in the middle. Scroll through full-range sound via the volume and tone pots before hitting the coil-split mini-switch to slice the humbucker in two and deliver unadulterated single-coil-style sound - polishing off the sonic gymnastics. Backed up by this setup, this instrument is able to support everything from funk-infused slap techniques to straight-up punk, and does it all with the unwavering support of high-grade hardware, including a Wilkinson bridge and set of modern lightweight tuners.

Wrote the following about Stagg Silveray J Style Natural Electric Bass Guitar

Bijna een jaar later, nadat ik deze bas had besteld, na het faillissement en doorstart, heb ik 'm toch in huis.

Ik werd meteen verliefd op de looks van deze bas: een beetje EB-03 (kop), en een (kleine) body die me doet denken aan m'n antieke Ibanez RB888, met een jazz pickup en een humbucker.

Ik had vroeger al eens een 5-snarige Stagg bas gehad, die was redelijk als beginnersmodel, maar had wel wat issues en mankementen.
Ik verwachtte niet veel van deze bas; aparte looks, maar als de rest tegenviel, dan zou het een leuk knutselproject kunnen worden.

Boy, was I wrong: deze bas is van goeie kwaliteit, een stevige Essenhouten body met mooi nerfpatroon, stabiele Esdoorn hals en toets, mooie blok inlays, Wilkinson hardware en stabiele lichtgewicht tuners.
De bas voelt stevig aan, een solide gewicht, maar niet te zwaar. Neckdive valt erg mee, mede door het gewicht van de body. Speelt comfortabel, en de pickups klinken gewoon goed.

Dit wordt geen klusbasje, maar eerder een nieuwe favoriet.

Een positieve verrassing van Stagg dus.
