Na lang zoeken eindelijk actieve speakers gevonden waar ik 100% tevreden over ben!
4 andere speaker sets heb ik retour gestuurd omdat ik het geluid teleurstellend vond: AudioEngine A5+, Edifier R1855DB, Hercules DJmonitor 42 en de Pioneer DM-40.

Deze speakers spelen op een heel ander niveau, het verschil met de DM-40 is zelfs groot:
De Pioneer DM-50D geeft een neutraler en breder geluidsbeeld, de bass is ook een stuk dieper.

De switch tussen DJ en Production stand geeft een klein maar belangrijk verschil: de bass is in DJ stand een pak meer "boomy" en breder naar het midden toe. Production stand geeft een mooie en evenwichtige separatie tussen laag, midden en hoog.

Voor een kleine kamer is het volume ruimschoots voldoende, ook bij zeer lage volumes is de klank nog vrij breed. De plaatsing van de speakers is hier wel van groot belang, het perfecte geluidsbeeld is redelijk smal, vooral verticaal. De tweeters moeten minstens op oorhoogte komen, of wat er boven, anders hoor je een doffer geluid.
