General
Provide small to mid-sized audiences with music that packs a punch with the Devine Onyx 18SA active subwoofer. This 18-inch sub boasts a 600 Watt RMS Class-D amplifier and plenty of connection options. The power of this subwoofer peaks at an imposing 2,400 Watts and, with a simple M20 distance rod, you can place a satellite speaker on top and connect it via the XLR output or, if you're mounting a full-range speaker, it can be hooked up via the Link output.
The Devine Onyx 10
The passive Devine Onyx 10 is speaker has been kitted out with a 10-inch woofer and a 1.35-inch horn-loaded, compression driver. With a power output of 220 Watts RMS at 8 Ohms, a frequency range of 58 Hz to 19 kHz and a maximum SPL of 116 dB, it can be set up to serve as a stand-alone speaker, but can also be integrated into a complete speaker system - whether mobile or fixed. Add a subwoofer and crossover or speaker management system for even more options. The Onyx 10 can even be used as a floor monitor or mounted on a stand thanks to the 35mm flange fitted on the base.

The plastic part falls out too easily when the top pole is pulled out rendering the fastener unable to tighten. Simple design fault, but they are cheap.

Voor mobiel gebruik zijn wieltjes zeker aan te raden – de bouten zitten er al op, al is de revet vast geplakt aan de coating. Bij het loswrikken daarvan ontstaat lichte schade aan de coating, maar dat is niet storend aangezien de wieltjes dit netjes afdekken.
Geluidstechnisch is het een leuke subwoofer voor gebruik binnenshuis, zeker gezien de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Voor buitentoepassingen schiet hij echter tekort in vergelijking met de duurdere alternatieven. Net als de kleinere modellen draait hij bovendien vrij snel in de pieken.
Kortom: een prima keuze voor indoor feesten of als instapmodel, met wat aandachtspunten voor wie hem mobiel of buiten wil inzetten.
