General
This Remo 18-inch bass drumhead is the Ebony Pinstripe ES-1618-PS. Executed in black and made of two layers (10- and 5-mil) of Mylar film. The special and distinctive ring layer on the sheet dampens the high overtones, thus providing a warm resonance. With its fast decay, this bass drum head is suitable for rougher music styles such as rock, R&B and heavy metal.

Wrote the following about Remo ES-1618-PS 18-inch Ebony Pinstripe bass drum head
Een klassieker, de Remo Pinstripe. Dit dubbellaagsvel klinkt vooral 'vet' en is dan ook erg geschikt voor (heavy)rock en dergelijke muziek. Vel gaat lang mee en kan zonder problemen laag gestemd worden. Er zit een stevige attack in. Als je een lange toon wilt moet je een ander vel kiezen (Remo Emperor bijvoorbeeld).
Ik weet niet of het echt zo is, kan ook gevoelsmatig zijn maar ze lijken ten opzichte van de (gewone Pinstripe) clear vellen wat 'darker' te klinken. Tip: plak een Falam Slam of ander soort sticker (of knip een stukje uit een oud vel) waar de klopper het vel raakt. Geeft meer attack en je vel gaat veel langer mee!Aanrader!
