General

The Ampeg PF-50T is a thoroughbred tube amp for demanding bass guitarists. Equipped with two X7 preamp tubes as well as one 12AU7 and two 6L6 power amp tubes, this portable bass amp delivers 50 watts of pure bass power at 4 or 8 ohms. Bass, mid and treble knobs give you control over your core sound, and the centre point of the mid range frequency can be adjusted in five steps. A simple push of a button provides you with an ultra low or high boost, and an input gain control is also at your disposal.

Ampeg PF-50T: a studio-grade tone

With the PF-50T, Ampeg has issued an all-tube bass amp that meets all the demands an advanced bassist could possibly have. To ensure optimal diversity, the bass head has a preamp balanced line out (DI) with Pre/Post EQ, and a transformer balanced line out, with a ground lift option, of course. Adjustable bias control allows you to replace the tubes. Remarkably, this all-tube bass beast weighs only 8.8 kilos. Its sound, meanwhile, is everything you'd expect from an Ampeg Portaflex: rich in harmony and worthy of a place in the studio.

Super Ampeg geluid maar dan zonder het gewicht van vroeger. Ook de service van Bax Music is uitstekend. Snelle en correcte afhandeling en indien je om info vraagt, ontvang je meteen een antwoord. Een aanrader!!!

Good amp for jamming, but terrible power cycle hum intrinsic from the amp rectifier circuit makes it not useful for recording. Can be modified but voids warranty.

Wrote the following about Ampeg PF-50T all-tube bass guitar amplifier

Wat een mooie versterker deze Ampeg. Je snapt niet hoe zo een versterker zo weinig kan wegen (8Kg)
Volgens mij een digitale voeding of zo.
Heb jarenlang SVT CL met 8x10 fridge gespeeld daarna SVTpro 1200 Watt transistor met HLF 4x10 kast.
Wegens het gesjouw op Markbass blijven hangen tot op heden. Eerst heb ik deze PF50T op een Markbass 2x10 Traveler aangesloten;wat een sound, daarna op een 104 HR Markbass; wauw wat een druk voor 50 Watt buizen, beter dan mijn ouwe 100 V4B Ampeg scheurijzer.
Daarna truc speciaal uitgevoerd, de PF50T gebalanceerde uitgang op mijn Markbass Little tube Mark 800 met 410 Markbass eraan doorgekoppeld.
En ja hoor daar was de SVT CL met koelkastsound.......Dus voor repetitie en studio de Ampeg PF50T gebruiken en voor een vette live podium broekspijpenwappersound bovenstaande truc uithalen.
Heb voor de studiolooks trouwens wel een portaflex 15 Ampeg kastje erbij besteld want het oog wil ook wat toch.
Ik ben weer verliefd op Ampeg, wel de Sound en looks, niet meer het gesjouw!
Prachtige tone met veel harmonics.
