Following a long and illustrious collaboration with the System of a Down bassist, Ashdown present the 22-Head Shavo Odadjian Signature bass amplifier. As expected, this 600 Watt head boasts Odadjian's much-loved ABM hybrid core, so a transistor-based power amp section has been teamed up with a valve-driven preamp section loaded with a tasty 12AX7 tube. This means that we're getting irresistible overdriven output alongside crystal-clear and defined cleans, and as a convenient bonus, an FS-4 footswitch (sold separately) can be added to toggle between the two, hands-free and in real-time.

When it comes to the overdriven sound, this Ashdown-and-Odadjian collab offers deeper tone-shaping tools than just the standard EQ section, since you're not only offered a nine-band equalizer, but a footswitchable nine-band equalizer. Next to that, the one-button Sub-Harmonic generator that we've seen come with previous Ashdown ABM amps supports an explosive, ground-shaking sub-layer, and to really push lines and licks into the foreground, the built-in compressor can be activated at the simple push of a button.

Bounce

Shavo and Ashdown have made sure that both passive and active basses are fully accommodated by the 22-Head by adding a fuss-free passive/active button next to the input volume pot. That fat EQ section can be placed before or after the DI output (which comes equipped with an XLR port) or you can just bypass the EQ altogether as needed. Neatly integrate any external stompboxes into the setup via the effects loop, and to finish, a line input and a line and full-range output have been provided.
