General

Hartke equipped this fuzz pedal for bassists with fully analogue circuitry in order to achieve that fat, punchy distortion that classic stomp boxes are known for. The HF44's FET design delivers a high-voltage, saturated tube sound while the Mid and Tone knobs add a harmonic character and high-frequency edge for more aggressive riffs. Even though most people wouldn't usually associate musicality with distortion, Hartke has made it possible to combine the two with the HF44. This pedal enables more body and a fatter sound with an exceptionally spacious feel, thanks to a fully analogue design. Emulating the essence of a tube amplifier has always been a challenge, but with the live, dynamic tone of the HF44, Hartke succeeds where others have failed.

The Hartke HC44: the latest evolution

Hartke has been a front-runner in the evolution of bass amplification since the company was founded, boasting the development of the original aluminium XL series all the way up to the revolutionary HyDrive paper-aluminium hybrid cone drivers. With their HF44 analogue bass chorus pedal, Hartke continues a line of products that provides bassists around the world with high-quality sound and robust, proven reliability.
