Aguilar's AG 4J-70 is a set of two single-coil pickups modelled after the famous jazz-style pickups from the seventies. A particularly distinctive feature of the period is that these pickups have a clearer, brighter sound than those from the sixties, making them perfect for slapping, funk, R&B and also many types of rock music. From Geddy Lee (Rush) to Marcus Miller, the Aguilar AG 4J-70 gives you the right sound. This calibrated set consists of a neck and a bridge pickup and is a perfect replacement part for 4-string J bass guitars.

Aguilar AG 4J-70: authentic '70s jazz sound

As the windings and materials of the '70s pickups varied so widely, Aguilar used several versions of different years to model for these pickups. After carefully listening and creating prototypes, the right wire gauge, material and windings (the ones that create the definitive clear, deep jazz-style sound) were found. The AG 4J-70 is a great addition to any bass guitar and pairs beautifully with Aguilar's on-board preamps like the OPB-3TK.
