When speaking close to the microphone, the Low-Cut filter can be engaged to remove any overbearing lower frequencies, while the Articulation switch can be flipped to apply extra clarity. For Apollo interface users, various compatible EQ and compressor presets come included for more in-depth tweaking and, as well as speech, the UA SD-1 microphone is just as effective when recording or miking up guitar amplifiers and drum kits.
Hemisphere Modelling Software
Download the Hemisphere partner software and transform the SD-1 into a virtual microphone collection. Paired with the software, this microphone can not only be turned into one of an array of renowned dynamic microphones and ribbon microphones but, via a proximity button, the low-end is given a boost to convincingly mimic the close-miking effect. If the sound is a little too sharp, you can simply hit an axis button to make things feel more mild and natural, as if the speaker is positioned just to one side of the microphone.
