General
Chinas are known for their short, cutting sound. Multiply the sound you now have in your head by three, and you have the Sabian AAX X-Treme Chinese 19-inch china. With its thin cymbal top, this cymbal has a quick response and a huge cutting power that will cut through any mix, and thanks to its fairly hefty 19-inch size, the sound still has enough body to stand up for a while. The B20 cymbal bronze used and the hefty hammerheads add a bit more complexity to the cymbal, without sacrificing clarity.
Autofocus Response
A bright china often has one big problem: it has annoying overtones. If not the AAX X-Treme Chinese 19-inch, because it has had the 'Autofocus Response' treatment. This balances all the frequencies this cymbal produces and filters out unpleasant overtones. Here, it doesn't matter whether you play very softly or very loudly, although with this cymbal you'll want to do mostly the latter.
