Hohner Chrometta 12 C Harmonica

General

The Chrometta 12 C by Hohner is a wonderful introduction to the art of chromatic harmonica-playing. It's extremely user-friendly and has a robust construction, as well as the familiar great sound that's synonymous with the Hohner brand. This chromatic harmonica in C provides three full octaves, from C4 to C7, giving you a broad selection of various tones in different octaves and making the Chrometta 12 suitable for most classical pieces.

The Chrometta 12

This harmonica has a black plastic comb and mouthpiece, which is beneficial because it's more comfortable to play. Another advantage is that a plastic comb tends to last longer than a wooden one because it doesn't swell. It also consists of 48 brass reeds and a brass reed plate. The Chrometta 12 has a range of 48 notes and is tuned to the key of C; which isn't that important for a chromatic harmonica, considering you have three octaves at your disposal. What this essentially means is that C is the lowest tone on this Chrometta 12. When you blow directly onto the reed plate, the Chrometta 12 delivers a clear, consistent sound with strong projection. Thanks to its clever construction with closed covers, you can be sure of a rich, full resonance. For the harmonica-player just starting out, the Chrometta 12's wider channel openings make it easier to play individual notes. At the same time, professionals will also be able to appreciate the craftsmanship of this excellent instrument. The Chrometta 12 has a zigzag slide construction so you can play in different keys.
