General
Ortega's R122-7/8 is a 7/8-sized classical guitar from the Family series that's ideal for beginners between the ages of around 10 to 12. It has a mahogany back and sides with a cedar top and is also suitable as a travel guitar. It even comes complete with an Ortega deluxe gig bag so that you can carry it easily on your back or with the comfortable handle. It has a warm classical acoustic sound and is easy to play. The bridge has 12 holes that enhance the tuning stability and give it a faster response too.

Wrote the following about Ortega Family Series R122-7/8 natural with gig bag
Fijne entry-level gitaar.
- De speelbaarheid van de 7/8 gitaar is heel goed (zeker met de normal tension snaren die ik erop heb gezet). Ook heel fijn dat er een verstelbare "trus rodd" in zit. Uiteindelijk vergde de nek weinig aanpassing maar het was wel prettig om verschillende instellingen uit te proberen.
- De afwerking van de fretuiteinden was niet heel goed; ik heb ze zelf wat afgebraamd; dat zou niet nodig moeten zijn, vind ik. Verder ziet de afwerking er heel premium uit. Het voelt als een hoog kwaliteitsproduct (en dat voor een heel schappelijke prijs)
- De klank is mooi warm, maar wel wat zacht. Als studiegitaar thuis vind ik dat gunstig; ik hoef me in het geheel niet in te houden. Maar voor een concertuitvoering zou ik een volumineuzer klank willen.
