Part of the Andalusian guitar building dynasty, Miguel Rodriguez Serrano is considered one of the greatest luthiers of the last 100 years. The Cordoba Rodriguez classical guitar is a direct love-note to his craft, presenting a sensitively modernised version of one of the models he built during the seventies, when he started experimenting with larger and deeper body shapes and reduced bracing. As such, this model follows the five-fan bracing concept in place of seven-fan bracing, which has an immediate influence on the sound, packing it with life and boosting the resonance and volume without the guitarist having to modify their playing style. The Cordoba Rodriguez sounds just as warm and full as the original, bears plenty of sustain and a prominent, commanding mid-range.

The Traditional and the Modern

Every detail of the original Miguel Rodriguez has been studied, analysed and lovingly recreated by the Cordoba guitar builders before they added a few modern tweaks. The solid cedar soundboard is supported by a solid rosewood body, and the cedar neck has been bound to the body using the traditional Spanish heel technique to guarantee excellent stability for decades to come. The neck of this more contemporary model also features a dual-action truss rod, so the action can be customised and the neck can be adjusted as needed. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish is another modern addition, which doesn't just protect the wood but allows it to breathe and mature naturally.
