General

The Tascam CG-1800 master clock generator has been specifically developed for post-production applications - that much is instantly obvious from the four video outputs at the rear. A master clock plays an important role in professional audio production since it's responsible for the synchronisation of all your equipment, reducing the chance of jitter to a minimum. In order to ensure the utmost accuracy, the CG-1800 is equipped with an OCXO - an oven-controlled crystal oscillator. The Tascam master clock generator is easy to operate thanks to a well-organised LCD display.

Tascam CG-1800: Audio and Video Perfectly Synchronised

The rear panel of the master clock generator is fitted with no fewer than 12 Word Clock outputs, the 11th and 12th of which are capable of transmitting a quotient or multiple of the basic frequency. The four video outputs ensure perfectly synchronised audio, even if you're working in HD quality. AES/EBU and S/PDIF inputs and outputs are at your disposal as well, so you can create complex audio and video systems without worrying about the synchronisation of your setup.

A Clear Overview

The front of the Tascam master clock generator is equipped with a well-organised status display. The CG-1800 is capable of calibrating itself, and has a USB port that allows you to record an error log. A unique feature is the analyser, which enables you to measure the input signal and to adjust the master clock accordingly. Up to four of your favourite settings can be saved as presets.
