General

The Blackstar FLY 3 High Gain is an ultra-compact 3-watt mini guitar amplifier for anyone who wants a heavier sound at their fingertips. Despite its size, it delivers a full-bodied sound, thanks to the specially designed 3-inch speaker in a sealed cabinet. You can easily switch between channels, and with the ISF tone control you can shape your sound from tight and ‘American’ to more mid-forward and ‘British’. Ideal for practising at home, backstage or on the go.

Nitro channel: more gain, more control

Whilst the well-known FLY 3 is already loved for its portability, this High Gain variant adds an extra third channel: Nitro. This channel is designed for modern high-gain styles such as metal, hard rock and punk, with an extra gain boost for aggressive saturation and a tight low end. A handy feature is the built-in noise gate on the Nitro channel: this keeps palm mutes and staccato riffs controlled and quiet between notes. Of course, the familiar Clean and Overdrive tones remain available too.

Practise, jam and expand

The FLY 3 High Gain runs on 6 AA batteries (not included) or an optional mains adaptor, so you can really use it anywhere. Via the aux input, you can jam along to your favourite tracks or use it as a portable speaker. You can practise in silence via the emulated headphone/line output, which is also suitable for recording. Want something bigger? It’s compatible with the optional Blackstar FLY 103 expansion speaker, allowing you to create a 6W stereo mini-rig.
