General
Blackstar's ID:Core Stereo 20 amplifier is perfect for beginners, as it helps them to quickly improve their guitar playing. This combo is very compact, yet it produces a grand sound thanks to Blackstar's Super Wide Stereo technology. The ID:Core Stereo 20 is the middle model from the series and offers 2x 10 watts of power. It houses the core features of the ID-series guitar amplifiers, so the six amazing-sounding amplifier models and twelve studio-grade effects. All of it comes with the intuitive controls of a traditional amplifier and the versatility of programmable functions.
ID:Core Stereo 20: small housing, big sound
If it weren't so small and portable, you'd think you were dealing with a full stack. The ID:Core Stereo 20 carries six of Blackstar's classic voices: Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, OD1 and OD2. These, in combination with the unique ISF tone control, allow you to produce every sound from British to American and everything in between. You can subsequently add modulation, delay and reverb effects (four per type) and enjoy how the ID:Core Stereo 20 fills the room with an impressive stereo sound.
Practical extra functions and software
The ID:Core Stereo 20 features a USB port that allows you to connect it to your computer for recording. Additionally, there's Blackstar's free downloadable Insider software, which allows for a more elaborate editing of your sounds, store more patches and share them via the online community. Further still, there's an MP3/line input that allows you to play along to your favourite music, and a headphone output with speaker emulation for quiet practice sessions. You can easily carry the amplifier anywhere with the detachable shoulder strap.
Tips or comments about this product- The Insider software is freely available on the Blackstar Insider-website.
- The INSIDER software from v1.6.2 also allows you to record the sound of the amp on an iOS device via an optional Apple Camera Connection Kit or Apple Lighting-USB adapter.

Speel er dagelijks op . Reverb, delay zijn subtiel in te stellen. Geluid kleur instellen (van helder/scherp tot "zoet"), van clean warm tot metal. Gewoon een leuk versterkertje, voor een woonkamer voldoende geluid ook om wat te jammen (zonder een drummer op een ouderwets drumkit). Klein genoeg om in een hoekje te verstoppen, en snel even in te pluggen of om overal mee naar toe te nemen.
Als ik hem niet had, zou ik wederom kopen. Omdat ik geen 4.5 ster kan geven en ik 4 sterren net te weinig vind, 5 sterren. Op vakanties gaat dat ding gewoon mee. Goede prijs/kwaliteit, zeker nu prijs is gezakt van 159 naar 133 euro.
Is er nog ruimte voor verbetering? (zonder hogere prijs)
- wat drum ritmes zou leuk zijn geweest.
- losse adapter is jammer, kabel had ook wat langer gekunt.
- wat meer vermogen (oké dan heet het ID CORE 40)
- Line in geluid bevat veel bas of dit via USB en PC aan te passen is weet ik niet. Ik maak alleen gebruik van de default instellingen. Geen behoefte om te experimenteren, default geluiden in manual mode zijn prima.
- Line out versterkt via PA klinkt te digitaal. Daarvoor is hij blijkbaar niet bedoeld.
- 12VDC voeding ipv 10VDC was wellicht leuk geweest om een 12V accu erop aan te sluiten.
Afsluitend: tijdens gitaarlessen ooit gehoord en gezien, was toen overtuigd dat ik 'm ook moest hebben.
