General
Fender's vintage '60s tube amps are particularly hard to come by and furiously sought after by aficionados and collectors. Fortunately, Fender now present the '64 Custom Princeton Reverb combo with all the characteristics of the original handwired AA1164 circuit. The 1964-released model was also the first Princeton ever to be fitted with a reverb section, so naturally, this modern re-issue has been equally blessed with a combination of Fender's famous vibrato effect with potmeters for the speed and intensity settings. Built in Corona (USA), this guitar amp can not only be used in various situations and styles but works together excellently with your entire collection of effect pedals.
The '64 Custom Princeton Reverb: Warm, Deeply American and Crystal-Clear Treble
The preamp is installed with three 12AX7's and a single 12AT7 tube, resulting in solid cleans and an easy-to-overdrive sound that doesn't thin out. The preamp tubes are complimented by two 6V6's in the power amp and give that typically warm, deeply American Fender sound with crystal-clear highs produced by a 10-inch Jensen Alnico P10-R speaker. You can use the characteristic treble and bass potmeters to further tweak the sound to taste while the whole thing is housed by a solid pine construction decorated with stylish black vinyl and an aged-silver grille. Last but not least, the Princeton Reverb comes complete with a 2-button foot switch.
