Laney's GH50R-212 tube guitar amplifier combo combines the GH40R amp head with two Celestion Vintage 30's speakers. Now you too can join the fight between Red and Black! That fight is between the GH50R-212's independently adjustable pre and power amps. In the red corner are the preamp's four 12AX7 tubes and in the black corner are the power amp's two EL34's. With the control knobs, you can determine how hard they have to work, and with the included foot switch, you can easily switch between them too.

Clean, overdrive, distortion, hi-gain, or fuzz? It's up to you.

This combo delivers a sound that lies somewhere between the Ironheart and the Lionheart amps, according to Laney. What this means is that you can expect classic overdrive as much as enormous hi-gain. Put one sound on channel 1 and the other on channel 2 and you'll have two great sounds to play with. Each channel has a separate drive knob so that you can control how hard the tubes work. The second channel features a volume knob too. Other controls at your disposal include a 3-band EQ, master tone, output and reverb knobs. The combo's two speakers ensure that all of the nuances in your sound will be heard.

Two or more?

The GH50R-212 is fitted with two 12-inch Celestion Vintage '30s speakers that deliver the tubes sweet tones. If you'd like to connect another speaker cabinet, that's possible using one of the GH50R-212's available inputs. You can find more information on the possibilities in the specifications. There's also a balanced D.I. output, should you wish to connect directly to a mixing desk, with the possibility to emulate a speaker cabinet. Effects pedals can be added via the FX loop and there's even an aux input for connecting an external sound source so that you can play along with your favourite songs.
