The 1958X is a hand-soldered reissue of the highly coveted Marshall 1958 model. It's an 18W full-tube 2x 10-inch guitar amplifier combo that closely resembles the '60s original in both looks and sound. The 1958X is a straightforward amplifier that is made to be driven to the edge for some wicked distortion of its EL84 tubes - with a harmonically complex, rich and full sound as a result.

Marshall 1958X: 'aged' Celestion speakers and tube tremolo

For proper authenticity, the Marshall 1958 features a tube tremolo that has no negative feedback in its cathode-biased power stage - just like the 1973X. As the original Greenback speakers in the 1958 combo aged, their tone matured as well, becoming softer and rounder. The special 10-inch Celestion G10F-15 speakers in the 1958X were artificially aged to sound as much like the broken-in vintage '60s tone of the originals. Moreover, thanks to the lower power of 18 watts, you can have the incredible, authentic Marshall sounds without damaging your hearing.

About the Handwired series

Marshall's Handwired-series amplifiers were made to be as authentic as possible, both in look and tone. To re-create the look, feel and tone of the highly coveted original models, Marshall's team of engineers did what they could to find and/or reproduce original components and materials, while revising the original construction methods to comply with modern safety standards.
