Compacte Marshall, dankzij de 1 watt fijn voor thuis. Liever had ik er een 12" speaker in gezien. De stock speaker heb ik er direct uit gehaald en vervangen door een Celestion Greenback. Klinkt meteen stuk beter. All in all een fijne buizen oefenversterker.

Hèt RAWK geluid in een klein kastje. De 0.5 Watt schakelaar is reuze handig thuis en de DSL5C heeft meer handige voorzieningen zoals een FX loop. Het Classic kanaal klinkt echt lekker met mijn Telecaster. Ik draai de treble op mijn gitaren wel half dicht omdat het me anders te schel klinkt (maar daar heb je die knop ook voor). Zeer veelzijdig beestje voor die prijs alhoewel cleane geluiden niet echt z'n ding zijn maar daar had ik 'm ook niet voor gekocht.
Als je de DSL5C bij een repetitie wil gebruiken prik je 'm eenvoudig door naar de geluidesinstallatie met de line-out; ga ik vanavond eens proberen (Kijken of mij bandgenoten dat wel zo leuk vinden).

Ik heb deze amp gekocht om thuis te oefenen zonder dat ik moest "inleveren" op de buizen-sound, want in tegenstelling tot vele andere 5W versterkers is deze wél een volledige tube-amp. En dit doet hij GEWELDIG ! Je mag de 5w niet onderschatten : hij is LUID als je wil. :-). druk je op het 1W knopje wordt hij een pak rustiger en is hij perfect om 's avonds te oefenen zonder de buren te storen. En op 1W behoud je die prachtige buizen sound. Wil je nog stiller, is er ook een headphone jack die ook het geluid van een grotere ruimte emuleert, maar hier vind ik de sound wat minder ("doffer"). Maar ja : normaal een full tube amp met headphone jack is niet evident dus ik ga niet klagen.
De klank : van mooie heldere cleans op kanaal 1 tot vette overdrive Marshall klank op kanaal 2. Zeer ruim bereik dus.
Nog een pluspunt : hij heeft een effects loop, wat denk ik op de DSL 15W zelfs niet aanwezig is !!
Als ik dan toch een minpuntje mag aanhalen : op kanaal 1 is de volumeregeling en de gain op 1 draaiknop gezet. dus als je het volume hoger dan 5 draait, begint hij ook hier te "crunchen". De uitleg van Marshall was dat men het geluid van een vintage plexi amp wou nabootsen op kanaal 1 maar ik had toch liever ook een master volume met aparte gain op kanaal 1 gehad.
Door dit laatste (en het wat doffere geluid van de headphone uitgang) geef ik hem niet de maximum score maar voor het overige een GE-WEL-DIG klein versterkertje dat toch de nodige "bite heeft. Aanrader
