General
Here, Marshall has taken the iconic sound of a JCM900 and packed it away inside a neat 20 Watt valve amp, so while the Marshall SN20C Studio 900 Combo takes things all the way back to the '90s, it keeps things way more lightweight and gig-friendly. The 12 inch Celestion G12T-75 speaker at the core supports full and lush tone, even at lower volume levels, while the preamp still comes filled with three ECC83 valves, one of which serves as your phase splitter, and the power amp has been filled with two 5881 valves. The output of this mighty amp can be pulled right back with ease to as little as 5 Watts via the power reduction function, setting you up with full sound on smaller stages.
The Marshall SN20C Studio 900 Combo: Retro Meets Modern
The SN20C Combo sticks close to the design of the '90s-era Hi Gain Dual Reverb amplifier that we all know and love. The control panel supplies extensive control over the gain, volume and built-in reverb for both channels and also hands you an especially potent three-band equalizer. The speaker outputs found mounted on the rear give you the options to hook this combo up to 16, 8 or 4 Ohm speaker cabinets and build a big stack, while the fitted DI-output supports direct connection to the mixing desk or audio interface. A retro classic built for the modern world, this throwback amplifier has been built for guitarists in need of a compact touring buddy with the voice of a hulking '90s classic.
