The Strymon Compadre Dual Voice Compressor & Boost is a simple yet complete tool for detailed sound-sculpting that offers two analogue compressor circuits, each with their own unique sonic character. You can drop the Compadre in Studio Mode for a beautifully transparent sound normally associated with a vintage-style rack unit, or select Squeeze Mode to get tighter compression with maximum sustain.

The Compadre: A Dependable Tone-Boosting Buddy

On the back of the pedal, you can choose between two analogue boost circuits: clean and dirty. The latter mode adds the kind of soft clipping expected of a high-end overdrive pedal and in addition, there's a mini switch to toggle the three available boost EQ settings. Here, Treble provides a little extra sparkle, Mid-Boost beefs up the sound, and Flat mode takes the entire frequency range up a notch.

Enhanced Ease of Use Thanks to MIDI

All Strymon gear, the Compadre can be seamlessly integrated into your live rig or studio set-up. Using a stereo jack cable, an expression or volume pedal can be hooked up to the pedal, but it's also possible to connect the Strymon MiniSwitch or MiniSwitch Plus (neither are included) for immediate access to your favourite settings. What's more, if you plug it into a MIDI pedalboard using a Strymon MIDI EXP Cable (not included), you're given enough storage for a whopping 300 presets!

De Strymon Compadre is een perfecte Compressor voor mijn setup. Subtiele compressie, of nee, het juiste woord is natuurlijke compressie. Het is zo’n apparaat dat je eigenlijk pas mist als het uitstaat. Komt met een blend functie waarbij je het droge signaal kunt mixen met het signaal met compressie. Twee niveaus van compressie en een Boost functie met 3 settings (treble, mid en flat) en 2 settings middels een switch aan de voorkant (clean of dirty) Dit doet niet onder voor een overdrive of distortion pedaal. Pedaal is ook heerlijk stil wat niet altijd lukt bij compressie pedalen. Deze Compadre blijft voorlopig mijn vriend.

De Compadre van Strymon heeft mijn set een positieve draai gegeven. De compressor werkt direct en accuraat waar door je gitaar heel mooi klinkt en altijd hoorbaar is zonder je volume te veranderen. Met de boost kan je in 3 settings je sound maken, dit is een enorme aanvulling. Persoonlijk vind ik flat modus erg fijn. Van Strymon kan je deze kwaliteit verwachten.
