In terms of sound, the Meinl Byzance 18" Tradition Light Crash can really be described as an 'old school' jazz cymbal. The crash is very thin at the rim and the way the cymbal deflects gives you a short and soft sustain. The sound itself can be described as bright and cutting, but with enough texture and darker tone.
