General
Acoustica's Mixcraft 7.5 sequencer is remarkably accessible, but still offers plenty of functions, instruments, effects, loops and samples. If you want your recording and mixing projects to get off to a flying start, Mixcraft is definitely the way to go. This user-friendly software will be a pleasant surprise for anyone who has trouble figuring out the average music production package. You'll have your first audio recordings or MIDI tracks ready in no time. Thanks to a variety of effects and other practical tools, you can polish your productions to perfection.
Mixcraft 7.5: new possibilities
Despite its modest price tag, Mixcraft 7.5 won't restrict your creativity in any way. You can use as many MIDI and audio tracks as you like, and the program offers all the functions you may expect from a decent DAW, such as time stretching and pitch shifting - which, in this new edition, sound more natural than ever. Other new features include full support for 64/32-bit systems and plugins, a Performance Panel, a Step Editor and comprehensive Automation options. This seventh Mixcraft edition allows you to simultaneously record several Automation parameters (such as volume, panning and filters) for a track.
Record, play and program
Working with Mixcraft 7.5, it's not only possible to make 'real' recordings but to create MIDI tracks as well. Connect a MIDI keyboard, for instance, and use it to play the included virtual instruments (organ, piano, drums, etc.), or to control the widely available external VST plugins. If you don't have a MIDI keyboard, or if you want to edit the note material, the software's practical piano roll editor and notation editor will certainly come in handy. A step sequencer allows for quick and easy beat programming while the Performance Panel - which is great for live applications - enables you to trigger audio and MIDI clips at the speed of light. Even if you want to edit videos, Mixcraft is the perfect solution.

MIxcraft 7 zelf is een prima software programma voor opname en producing. Oneindig veel plugins, ook van andere firmware (IK Multimedia wordt bv onmiddellijk herkend en geïntegreerd). Schermen zijn overzichtelijk en het programma is voorzien van fantastische voorgeprogrammeerde samples, loops en klanken die je zelf nog kan aanpassen.
Ook de combinatie met een midi-controller (in mijn geval de Behringer UMX 250 midi keyboard) werkt prima om die honderden klanken mee te sturen.
Heb heel wat software getest en de Mixcraft 7 is voor mij wel de meest volledige en gevarieerde.
Evenwel bij te zeggen dat het voor echte beginners niet echt geschikt is. Je moet al wat ervaring met dit soort software hebben, anders ga je de mist in...
