Chances are you received a Live Lite OEM version of Ableton when you bought a controller. This Live Lite version offers a nice taste of the various available possibilities of Ableton software, but the experience is somewhat limited. If you have been working with Ableton Live Lite for a while, an upgrade to the Standard edition is not a bad idea at all. The procedure is simple: with this Ableton Live 9 Standard upgrade from Live Lite OEM package, you can upgrade any version of Live Lite. 11 GB of sounds, new virtual instruments, new effects and additional functionality will be at your disposal and the quality of your productions will quickly improve!
The upgrade
Apart from the aforementioned 11 GB of sounds, Ableton Live 9 Standard offers a number of great functions. The Audio to MIDI function, for instance, scans your audio and, to its best ability, extracts note information from it. In other words: if you can sing, the software can create a melody and convert it to MIDI. Drums to MIDI is a similar function, but meant for drums and rhythms. With an unlimited number of audio and MIDI tracks, your projects can become as big as your imagination (and your computer) allows. The entire Ableton Live 9 Standard upgrade package offers Live Lite users a plethora of new possibilities. There is an even more extensive edition available (the Suite version), but the Standard edition offers plenty of audio and functionality to let your creativity run free.
