General

Yamaha is the first manufacturer brave enough to make musical instruments using Ecodear, a special plastic that's made from biomass instead of petroleum, making it CO2-neutral. Thanks to this environmentally friendly material, the recorder produces an incredibly natural sound, closely resembling the warm, round tone of a wooden model. The use of Ecodear also improves breath response and high-register control.

Looks

To keep up the natural theme, Yamaha has given the YRS-402B the yellow and white hues of corn on the cob. The recorder's mouthpiece has an arched windway that produces slight resistance when you play, enhancing breath control and allowing for better expression and projection. The Yamaha YRS-402B features baroque fingering with double sixth and seventh holes, and comes with a cotton cloth case that's just as eco-friendly as the instrument itself.

The recorder feels and sounds good. After not having played for decades, I'm practising for hours a day and thoroughly enjoying myself. I would definitely recommend it.

Hij doet het:)
Voor mij was de belangrijkste reden om een plastic instrument te nemen dat je 'm niet eerst hoeft in te spelen en hij kan overal mee naartoe. Schoonmaken is ook gemakkelijk.
Verder heb ik gekozen voor de ecolijn van Yamaha. Als de keuze er is dan liever iets dat iig een poging is tot ecologisch(er) zijn. Ik weet niet of ecodear echt zoveel beter voor het milieu is, maar we proberen het maar he:)
Dit is mijn eerste blokfluit, dus heb nog niet veel vergelijkingsmateriaal qua klank.

Heb diverse blokfluiten van Yamaha. Was wel benieuwd naar de klank van dit fluitje. Speelt lekker, erg zuiver. Maar ik kon qua klank werkelijk geen verschil ontdekken met de YRS-302 B III.

Dus om het geluid hoef je het niet te doen, maar het gifgroene hoesje en donkergele blokfluit doet je wel opvallen tussen al die standaard fluitjes. En dat is natuurlijk ook wat waard.

Een supermooi fluitje! De klank is softer en ronder dan van de gewone kunststof sopraanfluit en benadert de klank van een houten fluit. Hij blaast heel gemakkelijk en de hoge tonen komen als vanzelf! De stemming is ook heel goed. Een aanrader dus!
