General

Hohner's Marine Band harmonicas have been used around the world for more than a century. Since then, variations on the original model have come along, including the Crossover series. This line is special because of the comb that is made of bamboo. This particular choice of material ensures a very bright sound. The wood is laminated, which makes it insensitive to moisture and therefore does not expand or shrink. Moreover, this makes the harmonica very airtight, so blowing false air is prevented. Due to its fast response at any volume, this instrument can be used for both acoustic and amplified playing. This model is tuned in F-sharp major.

Playing pleasure

Many professional musicians use the Crossover not only for its clear sound, but also for its playing comfort. For instance, the edges are rounded and fitted with a SuperGlide mouthpiece lacquer. It features Modern Compromise Tuning, making it sound full of individual notes as well as chords. The stainless steel cover plates feature the Crossover logo and cover the 0.9 mm thick brass tuning plates. This harmonica lends itself not only to blues, but also to jazz, rock, soul and funk.
