General
Simply put: this digital mixer is ready for the future! The Presonus StudioLive 32.4.2AI is a comprehensive digital 32-channel mixer full of digital connection and expansion options. A 48x34-channel FireWire audio interface delivers an excellent performance when it comes to digital audio transmission. There are four effect processors on board, along with wired and wireless network options, as well as Active Integration (AI) architecture. AI makes it possible to optimally link hardware and software, and then to easily operate the StudioLive 32.4.2AI from a computer, tablet or smartphone.
StudioLive 32.4.2: Active Integration
The Active Integration technology featured in the Presonus comprises a 32-bit DSP, wired and wireless network connectors, USB 2.0 and all of the necessary software. Thanks to OMAP L138 processors (32-bit/96 kHz multi-stream CPU, 350 MHz), all connections and audio edits are kept nice and smooth. You can even control the StudioLive 32.4.2AI via WiFi, thanks to the free included software for Mac, Windows and iPad. The network possibilities are virtually limitless via the optional Dante and AVB cards.
Fat Channel
External effects and other peripheral devices have been rendered practically useless with the StudioLive 32.4.2. You'll find that there's a a compressor, limiter, gate/expander and a 4-band parametric EQ per channel. This is referred to as a Fat Channel, and we think you'll find that it's dynamic and comprehensive. You have direct access per channel to all of the settings via bright LEDs in the Fat Channel section. It's good to know that you're not dealing with shared processing power either, like you would be with many competing mixers. As such, even when your mixer is working hard, each channel still has full functionality, without digital artefacts.
Connectors:
This mixing desk was designed so that the average producer or technician could get going with it right away. You'll find connectors for 32 channels on the back, and each one is equipped with an XLR and jack input, as well as a jack insert. Furthermore, there are also D-Sub25 direct outputs, FireWire and LAN connectors, mains outputs, and a connector for a talkback microphone. The 32 channels feature class A XMAX microphone preamplifiers, which are great for getting professional results when it comes to dynamics and overall sound. But then, that's the power of the StudioLive AI series: an analogue feel combined with the power of the digital world.
Tips or comments about this product- Please note: it is possible to cascade two mixers via a FireWire 800 cable with a firmware update that was released in the summer of 2014.

Dsnake aansturen is ook heel vreemd, je hebt allemaal gain pots boven de kanalen maar die doen het prompt niet meer als je aan de Dsnake bent verbonden, je moet het kanaal selecteren en dan naar een bepaalde pagina in het kleine LCD schermpje navigeren om vervolgens de gain aan te kunnen passen wat echt in stapjes van 0.02dB gaat...
Vervolgens, als klap op de vuurpijl, ook nog een tegekke bank ongemotoriseerde faders! Wat inhoud dat wanneer je via een Ipad mixt tussen het publiek, je gewoon een kanaal 'kwijt kunt raken' daarmee bedoel ik dus: Je moet eerst de fader positie van het kanaal weer opzoeken met je fysieke fader voordat je weer kunt schuiven op de tafel zelf! Gaat je gegarandeerd een keertje tegenwerken tijdens een plotselinge rondzinger of solerende gitarist.
Als je een tafel wil hebben waar iedere gast tech helemaal de kluts van kwijt raakt, ga dan vooral voor dit maffe apparaat... Ik kan tenzeerste aanraden: een SiExpression of SiImpact (als je schermpjes wilt hebben boven de faders) of gewoon een X32(c) of M32(r).
Al met al is dit ding gewoon echt een NEE
