General
Yamaha has developed the sequel to the P105, which has been given the name, the P115. The internal sounds, which are sampled from the Yamaha CF III grand - used by none other than Alicia Keys - has been given a substantial update. Also, a controller app is available for iOS, which means you can use your smartphone to control your piano! At the same time, the polyphony has been extended to no less than 192 voices. Above all, the P-115B has a touch that is pretty much equivalent to that of an acoustic piano, making it ideal for advanced players, but simple enough to be used by novices as well.
Yamaha P-115B: the ideal practice piano
Every pianist - young or old, experienced or novice - knows, practice makes perfect! The Yamaha P-115B puts the fun back into practising. It includes four different drum beats to play along with. You won't ever need to use a metronome again! You can also activate the P-115B's 'duo mode', which splits the keyboard into two zones so two people can play simultaneously while sitting next to each other.
Optimal sound
The 'Pure CF Sound Engine' generates this piano's sound, which simulates that of a CF III grand. Every aspect of this grand piano is sampled at such high quality, that even the most minute details are audible on the Yamaha P-115B. To give this piano its unique sound, it's been fitted with a top-notch specially designed speaker system with a capacity of 2 x 7 watts and the ability to emulate natural sound and vibrations. Despite their limited size, these speakers are able to clearly reproduce the P-115B's full audio spectrum so you can enjoy its sparkling, clear sound!

De piano wordt gebruikt om te oefenen en tijdens optredens. Versterkt is het piano geluid goed en realistisch! En dat voor deze prijs!!
Niet te veel toeters en bellen erop wat fijn is. De piano is lichtgewicht en in combinatie met een draagtas prima te vervoeren.
Hij doet echt niet onder aan de duurdere stagepiano's waar ik ook regelmatig op speel. Twijfel je t.o.v. een duurdere variant, kies deze!

Hij is veel te hoog. De drie standaarden die ik heb kan ik niet zodanig instellen, dat ik er goed voor/achter zit. Of hij is te hoog, dat speelt niet lekker, of hij is zo laag, dat je je benen er niet onder krijgt. En dat is ook noet prettig. Zelfs al zou je hem op echte piano hoogte zetten. (toetsen op gelikke hoogte als mijn echte piano) dan is er te weing plek voor je benen.
2e nadeel is de ruis die je krijgt als je de usb interface gelijk gebruikt met een pc die ook een usb geluidskaart heeft en waarbij je de geluidsuitgang van de piano mixt met de uitgang van de usb audio kaart. Mijn Yamaha MX49 heeft dit euvel ook. Omdat er geen midi op zit kan ik dit probleem ook niet omzeilen. Twee keer jammer.
Verder prima piano voor zijn prijs.

Er is een app beschikbaar voor de iPhone/ iPad, maar het vinden van een usb-b aansluiting naar een lightning aansluiting is niet gemakkelijk. Ik heb nu een usb-b naar 30-pin aansluiting en een tussenstukje van apple.
De app laat je de piano makkelijker instellen.
Ik heb mijn piano zelf ook aangesloten met een mono-jack kabel op mijn boxen.
Het is een prachtig product! Een waardige opvolger van de P105.
