General

The Yamaha MG20XU is the largest XU model from the popular MG series. These models are known and loved for their versatility, good sound and robust metal housing. They distinguish themselves with their high-quality SPX multi-effect processor and 2x2 USB interface. The MG20XU is the 20-channel model and comes with a rackmount kit so you can easily mount and transport it. It's equipped with high-quality class A microphone preamplifiers, which produce a detailed sound full of natural-sounding bass tones and clear, tight highs.

MG20XU: Interface and Cubase AI:

Thanks to the built-in 2-in / 2-out USB interface, you can connect the Yamaha MG20XU to your PC or Mac, and you can connect to your iPad or iPhone via an optional Camera Connection Kit by Apple. While you're connected, the sound from your PC is sent back to the mixing console via channels 19-20. After you've downloaded the free included Steinberg Cubase software, you can get going right away with recording and composing music!

XU Models and SPX Multi-Effects

The MG series by Yamaha is quite comprehensive. Something unique to the XU models is that they're equipped with SPX effects. The multi-effects from this series can be found in many reputable studios and are of very high quality, and include chorus, flanger, distortion, reverb and delay, which can all easily be accessed with the preset button.
