General
We know it sounds a little odd, but the Carry-On Folding Piano is definitely a full-size, 88-note piano with velocity sensitive keys that can be folded up into a mere 33cm long package that weighs just 1.6kg. Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced pianist or producer, or you're just on the road a lot, this unique digital piano will definitely make life a lot easier. The Folding Piano already comes loaded with 128 sounds, giving you quite a bit of choice, but if that doesn't cut it, you can simply connect up your laptop via USB-MIDI for sample library access. This piano even features built-in speakers and a rechargeable battery that lasts for up to eight hours on a full charge, and thanks to the fitted headphone mini-jack, you can practise privately whenever you want. To sweeten the deal, Carry-On include a gig bag, a USB cable and a sustain pedal.

Zeker heel makkelijk te vervoeren. De aanslaggevoeligheid laat nogal te wensen over, bouwkwaliteit is mwah en geluid valt tegen. Handig voor vakantie of bijv snel iets op school.

Handig instrument; superlicht en makkelijk mee te nemen. Dit exemplaar, aanslaggevoelig, blijkt uiteenlopende gevoeligheid te hebben tussen de verschillende toetsen. De één moet je steviger aanslaan dan de ander. Bovendien klikt iedere aanslag luidruchtig, zodat dat storend werkt op de muziek die je speelt. Hetzelfde geldt voor het sustain-pedaal; iedere keer als je die intrapt volgt een harde klik.
Tenslotte zijn de toetsen niet van het normale pianoformaat, wat niet in de omschrijving vermeld wordt.
Terug naar de winkel dus en checken of het aan deze B-versie ligt of dat dit voor alle exemplaren geldt.
Voor de begeleiding van mijn koortje voldoet dit exemplaar niet.
Tenslotte zijn de toetsen niet van het normale pianoformaat, wat niet in de omschrijving vermeld wordt.

De standaardbreedte en aanslaggevoeligheid van de toetsen zijn erg fijn, maar de zwarte toetsen zijn maar ongeveer de helft van de lengte, waardoor er eigenlijk niet goed op te spelen is (vooral als het doel is om ook op vakantie te kunnen oefenen en het verschil met de eigen piano dus groot is). Daarnaast zijn de toetsen erg vlak, waardoor je je vaak afvraagt of je de toets daadwerkelijk hebt ingedrukt. De geluidskwaliteit is niet geweldig, maar speelde voor mij geen rol. Conclusie: het is handig om grepen op witte toetsen mee te oefenen, maar helaas niet veel meer dan dat.
