Bogner Ecstasy Red overdrive pedal

Met dank aan Bax kon ik de Bogner Extacy Blue én Red tegelijk uitproberen.

De Blue heeft een enorm volume- en gainverschil met de boost aan en uit, waardoor er een soort gat ontstaat tussen die twee standen. De Blue heeft ook de neiging rafelig te klinken, een probleem dat ik met mijn amp met veel pedaaltjes heb. Ik speel overigens op een Fender Strat en een Fender Blackface Vibrolux Reverb.

De Red daarentegen heeft dat volume- en gainverschil niet en klinkt supersmooth. Ook met lagere gain klinkt de Red lekker, en met meer gain wordt het nooit een Boss Metal Zone. ;)

Voor mij is de Red hèt overdrive/distortionpedaal waar ik naar op zoek was, en waardoor ik al mijn andere drives heb kunnen verkopen. Het is voor mij het pedaal dat het meeste in de buurt van een goede, overstuurde buizenamp komt dat ik ooit gehoord heb, Maar dan zonder de buren weg te blazen.

Dit boutique pedaal is een echte topper.

Ik wilde mijn lead kanaal vervangen door een pedaal voor het vette scheurwerk en solo's.
Na vele pedalen beluisterd en getest te hebben kwam ik bij deze rode duivel terecht.

Een erg goede tone zonder dat hij dichtsmeert.

Een ware aanvulling op mijn pedalboard.

Ook een plus punt is dat hij via een trs jack extern te schakelen is.
Ik gebruik de EFX MKIV en daarmee kan ik niet alleen het pedaal schakelen maar ook de boost!
