When Catalinbread started developing the SFT, they originally had the ultimate overdrive pedal for bass guitars in mind. They didn't realise at the time that this type of effect would also sound incredible with an electric guitar. Once they did realise, however, they quickly decided to add some classic sounds from the '60s and '70s. The result can be heard in Catalinbread's SFT pedal which has sounds similar to those on The Rolling Stones "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!" live album. This pedal is also well suited to heavier music styles. A lot of drop-tuned metal is actually played on amps that were designed for bass guitars.

SFT: powerful tone

The Catalinbread SFT is suitable for both guitar and bass guitar. You'll notice that the pedal responds well to your touch, allowing the subtle dynamic differences in your playing to come through clearly. The pedal is based on vintage Ampeg amps so you can expect a classic Ampeg growl with lots of grunt. You can adjust the treble and bass just the way you want using a Baxandall equalizer. With the Volume and Gain controls, the broad range of sounds can be customised even more.
