The JHS Pedals The AT+ Andy Timmons Black Signature Drive is the black version of the well-known AT+: technically identical, but with a different look. This effects pedal is designed to deliver the rich, ‘British’ tube-amp-style drive for which Andy Timmons is renowned, with plenty of adjustment options for both rhythm and lead. Thanks to the combination of overdrive and a separately switchable boost, you have a complete gain section for your pedalboard in a single compact unit, with standard 6.3 mm mono inputs and outputs.

Overdrive with extensive tone control

The drive channel offers a wide range: from dynamic, high-gain blues to a tight, punchy distortion. You have Volume, Drive and EQ to set the foundation, whilst the Air control helps you get the presence and articulation just right. Particularly handy is the 3-way headroom switch with 25/50/100W modes, which lets you simulate different ‘power amp’ characteristics. This allows you to tailor the feel and response of your drive to your amplifier, your guitar and your playing style.

Independent boost and flexible power supply

In addition to the overdrive, there is a separate boost that you can switch on and off with its own footswitch and which operates completely independently. Use it to push your amp harder, or place it after the drive for that extra bit of volume and to cut through the mix. True bypass ensures your signal remains intact when the pedal is switched off. Power is supplied via an optional 9–18V DC adaptor (centre negative); at 18V you get extra headroom. Battery power is not supported.
