When it comes to improving on perfection, Keeley are considered the masters. During their endless quest for the most tear-jerkingly outstanding tone possible, they stumble upon the gift that is the Super Phat Mod Germanium, as if by accident. This polished and enhanced version of the now 16-year old BD-2 Bluedriver carves out all that delicious Bluesdriver-style warmth and subtlety via a complex circuit board, while a germanium transistor - or Super Phat Mod - adds a thick layer of extra gain that pulls full-fat tone out of your amp.
The Power of the Germanium Transistor
The Super Phat Mod Germanium has been hand built with the kind of masterful skill you'd only expect of Keeley. The very carefully fitted Germanium transistor combines the authentically discreet tone of the BD-2 Bluesdriver with an overdrive that pulls considerable punch, making this one multi-dimensional drive pedal. Just as with the previous Phat Mod pedals, the Germanium comes with the added perk of a Mode Switch that flicks from a normal EQ to Phat - giving the low-end a nice little nudge. This is the perfect pedalboard fixture if you want your sound to swing dramatically from sweet and subtle to ruthlessly dirty.
