The classic Maxon SD9 Sonic Distortion (from the Nine series) has reached proper cult status. The pedal and its superior JRC4558 IC chip offer a wide range of distortion sounds, ranging from punchy overdrive to fizzing fuzz. What's more, the SD-9 is home to surprisingly minimalist circuits that retain as much of you guitar's original tonal character, and yet you have 42dB of gain at your feet for a powerful solo boost or low boost/cut tone control.
Maxon's high-quality effects
Maxon started out as a manufacturer of guitar pickups, yet made their way to fame with high-quality innovative effect pedals. The company is responsible for the legendary TS-808 and TS9 Tube Screamers that were issued in the seventies under the Ibanez brand name. Today, Maxon specialises in vintage effects - including the highly coveted analogue delays and classic overdrives. Many professional guitarists use Maxon pedals.
