General
The MF Drive Minifooger combines Moog's legendary Ladder Filter, boutique FET amplifiers and a classic OTA gain circuit in a single pedalboard-friendly stompbox. This 100% analogue overdrive pedal has been designed to sound like a tube amplifier that has been turned up to 10. The MF Drive has a remarkably sensitive response to input volume and playing dynamics. Thanks to its versatile tone control, this particular Minifooger allows you to create any sound you want, from a shredding, cranked-up American tube amp to a warm, creamy British overdrive.
Moog MF Drive: an arsenal of sounds
Four knobs and two switches give you control over an arsenal of overdrive sounds. The Gain control allows you to switch from a clean tone with a slight edge to an aggressive, dynamic overdrive. Hit the Drive switch and the gain is taken up another notch. The Filter and Tone knobs are in league with the Peak switch, allowing for nearly infinite tonal possibilities, from fat and warm to clear and defined. The Output knob takes care of the output volume and can be used to add additional distortion to a tube amp.
CV input for an expression pedal
If you want even more options, you can choose to connect an optional CV expression pedal to the MF Drive. Plug in a Moog EP2, for instance, and you have hands-free control over the filter function of the pedal. Use it to create that distinctive swell effect from extremely muddy to exceptionally clear. Activate the filter Peak and you can even use the MF Drive as a delectably grungy wah - a setting that sounds particularly amazing in combination with a bass guitar.
