Radial JDX-48 Phantom

General

The Radial JDX Reactor is a guitar amp DI box that no stage can go without! This red box is the ideal alternative for miking speaker cabinets, as microphones only need the tiniest knock to stop picking up the cabinet's audio and ruin a gig. With the JDX Reactor you needn't worry about this any longer. The JDX-48 Phantom is the successor of Radial's popular DI. In certain situations, using the accessory power adapter isn't practical, so this improved version also supports 48V phantom power.

Characteristics of the Radial JDX-48 Phantom

Contrary to most other Direct boxes with speaker emulation, the Radial JDX-48 uses the natural response of your speakers, as you can position it between your guitar amp top and speaker cabinet. The way in which the speakers respond to the signal is taken into account in the final speaker emulation, resulting in a more authentic guitar sound. With the JDX-48 Phantom, it sounds like there's an SM57 microphone in front of a 4x 12 cabinet. No matter on what stage your playing, or who's controlling the FOH mixer, your guitar sound is consistent at all times.

Additional features

At the front of the Radial JDX-48 Phantom you can find three switches. A ground lift that can eliminate earth loops in certain setups, plus a switch for amps of up to 100 watts, or up to 300 watts. For a boost in the bass frequencies, a Bass Extend option is provided. Thanks to its clear and punchy medium range, the JDX-48 is also ideal for bass guitars. Once it's connected, it will sound like you are playing over a 8x 10 bass cabinet. The Radial JDX-48 has a 100% discreet Class-A circuit, so that you are assured of high-end audio quality.
