General

A real all-rounder, the tone of the T-Rex Mudhoney distortion pedal can be re-shaped in detail to match a wide scale of genres and carve out sound that's genuinely incomparable to other stompboxes. Initially characterised by a punchy mid-range and loaded with a meaty Boost button, when the gain of the Mudhoney is dialled all the way up it even takes on a fuzz-style edge. Thanks in-part to the intuitive treble control of the Tone pot, no matter how it's set up, the original character of your guitar remains intact.

The Danish-Made Mudhoney: Authentic Sound, Modern Quality

The Mudhoney is actually a reissue of one of the first stompboxes that T-Rex ever produced and for the most part, has been built using exactly the same components, while both the finish and the quality control has been polished up. So, the soldering has been vastly improved and a true-bypass circuit has been added, resulting in what T-Rex describes as 'Small scale, big expectations' - in short - a multifaceted and transparent distortion box that deserves a spot on any board.

De oer t-rex pedalen vind ik de beste. Niet teveel knoppen waardoor ik met mijn maat 46 nooit op de verkeerde trap in het heetst van de strijd. De Mudhoney klinkt super en reageert idemdito op de volumeknop van de gitaar. Gaat definitief in de pedalenbak.

Mooi en degelijk pedaal met eenlLekkere rijke sound!
Ik heb ook de Mudhoney II gehad wat ook een lekker pedaal is met eigenlijk twee in één.
De gewone Mudhoney klinkt net iets beter en is meer een klassiek pedaal, ook wat bouw betreft.

Aangezien ik een Looperswitcher gebruik (Decibel 11 SwitchDoctor) had ik het probleem met de Mudhoney II dat deze niet AAN bleef staan als de stroom eraf ging en weer ingeschakeld werdt.
Bij een loopswitchsysteem moeten alle pedalen immers aan staan en ik vergat de Mudhoney II nog wel eens aan te zetten.
De Mudhoney "classic" doet dat wel.
Ik had de Mudhoney II nog even gehouden maar uiteindelijk was hij overtollig.
Kortom: ik ben zeer tevreden met de Mudhoney!

Wrote the following about T-Rex Mudhoney - Danish Collection Distortion Effect Pedal

Mooiste distortion die ik tot nu toe heb gehad. Het geluid blijft transparant, waardoor de karakteristiek van mijn gitaren (Strat, G&L Asat, ES-335) prima intact blijft. Bij veel distortions maakt het niet bar veel uit welke gitaar je erin prikt. Verder is de Mudhoney veel dynamischer dan een gemiddelde distortion. Bij een lage gain begint hij pas te vervormen bij een harde aanslag. Niet alleen de crunch-sound is lekker ook het lead geluid is top: veel sustain, smooth, maar prikt toch prima door de mix heen.
Ik heb ook nog een Mudhoney II geprobeerd. Leek me handig crunch en lead in een. Maar vreemd genoeg klinkt dat pedaal minder lekker. Dus heb ik maar een tweede Mudhoney I gekocht. Mooi setje op mijn pedalboard.
